Description:

In Hollywood’s underworld of demigods, druids, and ancient bonds, one girl has a dangerous future.

Sage is eighteen, down on her luck, and struggling to survive on the streets of Los Angeles. Everything changes the night she’s invited to a party—one that turns out to be a trap.

Thrust into a magical world hidden within the City of Angels, Sage discovers that she’s the daughter of a Celtic goddess, with powers that are only in their infancy. Now that she is of age, she’s asked to pledge her service to one of the five deities, all keen on winning her favor by any means possible. She has to admit that she’s tempted—especially when this new life comes with spells, Hollywood glam, and a bodyguard with secrets of his own. Not to mention a prince whose proposal could boost her rank in the Otherworld.

As loyalties shift, and as the two men vie for her attention, Sage tries to figure out whom to trust in a realm she doesn’t understand. One thing is for sure: the trap she’s in has bigger claws than she thought. And it’s going to take a lot more than magic for this Celtic demigoddess to make it out alive.

Book Review:

Deep down I have a great passion for Celtic and Irish Folklore so when I began reading this novel I could not contain my excitement!

This novel is probably my top favorite so far of 2018 and I simply cannot wait for the sequel to come out! It was that enchanting!

Not only did I learn more about Irish Folklore, but I got to live inside a living and breathing tale of goddesses, druids, and spirits! The author's descriptive writing had me fawning over a nonexistent world in which I find myself greatly impatient to return to. To say I was entranced would be an understatement!

The drama and history of all the Celtic houses were perfectly portrayed in this story. The storyline was neither overdone or cheesy, but just right for me! It was such a great read that I couldn't put it down!

The worldbuilding was so intricately and deeply written that all I wanted to do was learn as much as I could of the main character's world. What were druids and goddesses? How did their magic work? What happened to Sage's sister who was forced to live underground due to her husband's untimely death? These were the questions running through my head as the author took me deeper into the history within Sage's dreams. The author painted a rich picture of how their society works that it left me wanting to learn more.

I fell completely for Faelan's character - I have another new book beau, yet again, to add to my list. *Swoons* The whole forbidden love trope gets me every time. Although I couldn't help but want to learn more about the other man in Sage's life - Kieran. He was a mysterious and dark soul that you can't help but want to keep your eye on due to Sage's surreal dreams. I also adored the crazy wizard character, Lailoken. He was the cherry on top full of lots of surprises, spells, and comic relief.

And that cliffhanger the author left me on - UGH! OH EM GEE! Hence me giving this wonderful tale 5 out of 5 stars!!!

If you don't pick up this book you're truly missing out on one epic adventure of love and fate!
